The Legend of Baron Mulkrin
He seems to have access to vast funds, and an almost limitless supply of resources. With many secret hideouts and bases across the globe from which to devise his dastardly plans. Many times he has escaped the authorities by daring escapes from maximum security prisons and carefully laid traps. But who is Baron Mulkrin, and where did he come from?
The Legend Of King Mulkrin
Every Civilization has it’s legends – individuals who stand out above everyone else because of good deeds and great works. Baron Mulkrin, is the stuff of legend, not through generosity, or the benefits that he’s brought to the Sockmonkey community but through years of domination, and suppression, of cruelty and slavery. His name is spoken in hushed whispers, It strikes fear into the hearts of any Sockmonkey that knows its dark history.
We only have a passing history of Baron Mulkrin, he remains an enigma, and is steeped in myths. We do not know his age, for some reason the stories of Baron Mulkrin have been told from generation through generation of Sockmonkeys’, if it was just one Sockmonkey then even in human terms he would be hundreds of years old. The earliest of the stories are based in early Sockmonkey History, and at the beginnings of early civilization when the great Sockmonkey continent lay between America and Europe.
King Mulkrin (at this time he was not a Baron) was the ruler of this great Sockmonkey land, while the human civilizations were just beginning to form the land mass of Clothopia and the civilization it held was centuries ahead both in culture and technology. It wasn’t without it’s waring tribes however. Over time the power went to his head. King Mulkrin gradually became more ruthless with his enemies, destroying the cities of his enemies and conquering and pillaging all who stood against him. He ruled with an Iron tail, no-one dared to challenge him.
Soon the entire continent was under the control of his ruthless army, some say there were over 30 million Sockmonkeys’ under his control. King Mulkrin wasn’t satisfied, he wanted to conquer more, but he had run out of land to conquer without leaving his continent. King Mulkrin hated water, and didn’t trust anything underneath his feet that wasn’t solid, so he set the poor subjects of his land the task of building a bridge across the sea as far as they could go. The Sockmonkeys’ had no need of exploration before, they rarely travelled over water, and their boat technology was little better than a hollowed out coconut. So they began working on the massive bridges, not knowing the foolish task that lay ahead of them.

The impatient King was more and more fed up with waiting for the bridge to be built so he enlisted slave labor to help build it, but he didn’t realize how far away land was as he grew even more angry, and like all bad Kings he just blamed his workers as they still hadn’t reached the other side.
The years passed and the bridge spanned over many thousands miles long from east-west. King Mulkrin grew even angrier, He didn’t realize that it was a pointless task, too pig headed or to evil to care. Millions of Sockmonkeys’ worked on the bridge, some falling off the sides with exhaustion, some becoming lost at sea – swept away by large waves, others being whipped into service, toiled days and nights carrying stones and rock to help build foundations. It was thought that the bridge would never be finished before the King lived out his life, but King Mulkrin never seemed to get any older, outliving the people worKing on the bridge, and their children, and grandchildren.
The entire civilization began to suffer terribly as all resources were poured into bridge building. Then one day as the sun began to set on the horizon King Mulkrin arrived at the end of the bridge, and looked across the horizon and saw a distant peak of land. The end was in sight and soon his plans for global domination could begin again. It was a further 200 bobbins before the first Sockmonkey touched land on the other side of the bridge but there was no time for celebration. King Mulkrin prepared his vast armies intent on conquering America, so arrogant was he that he thought the bridge, almost complete in the opposite direction would be finished in time for his victorious army to conquer Europe after they’d dominated America.
The stories do not make note of the exact numbers, but it is thought that over 15 million Sockmonkeys’ began their journey across the bridge that year, the trip taking many months to complete, with King Mulkrin waiting on the other side for his army to gather on the new lands he was eager to begin an attack on the early civilizations that scouts had discovered.

It appears that fate decided that King Mulkrin’s plan was doomed to failure, as a series of massive earthquakes began to tear up the continent of Clothopia, The bridges were destroyed, and tidal waves ripped up the coast where King Mulkrin was waiting. Millions of Sockmonkeys’ perished beneath the waves, as Clothopia sank beneath the deep ocean. King Mulkrin and several hundred thousand survivors took refuge in America, they started to form their own new civilization, building great pyramids and a new city in the dark south american jungle. The humidity of the climate took its toll on the Sockmonkeys, and tropical diseases claimed many. Disease and famine completely halted the founding of the Sockmonkey civilization in south America, and many Sockmonkeys escaped to the cooler north to try and start a new life.
It was decades later that the Inca’s discovered these temples and claimed them as their own. King Mulkrin would have disappeared from the history books at that point if it were not for a discovery of some dusty photographs of an early English Baron.
Early 20th Century
It is not known how King Mulkrin lived so long and made his way over to Europe, possibly a return trip via a spanish explorers ship. What we do know is that the name Mulkrin was used by a highly secretive English Baron who upset a lot of people by using cheap labor on his farms. There are rumors that it was this Baron that travelled to Germany and instigated the first world war to control the entire European market in banana smuggling. To control such a market would have required immense resources with contacts across every continent. It would have brought Baron Mulkrin incredible wealth and riches, he soon needed a new base of operations, his location was too well known and he was wanted across almost every continent.

He is rumored to have built a secret base inside an extinct volcano – using slave labor and intimidation of local natives to achieve his selfish plans. He began work on secret technology in order to ensure his control of the banana markets. When bananas became too commonplace he needed to reduce the availability to increase his profits so he got in touch with his German contact – Adolph Hitler. The second world war gave him the ideal opportunity to regain control of the market. When Hitler became too ambitious Baron Mulkrin leant out some of his scientists to work on the Manhattan project to build the first bomb With a guarantee that his crimes would be overlooked for 50 years.
It is rumored that Baron Mulkrin has once again formed his secret organization and is again plotting to regain control of the global banana market, or possibly achieve his ultimate goal – controlling the entire world. We are still trying to uncover more details of the secret organization.
